Here’s What Happens In a Flute Lesson
Flute lessons include working through a lesson method book on the students level, working on a solo piece and instruction in flute theory on the students level. The lesson books provide a variety of styles and moods in playing the flute. Improvisation is integrated throughout the book too. As a flute teacher, I always try to challenge the students without overwhelming them and the lesson books are formatted in such a way that leaves plenty of room for an individual approach to each student. I also encourage the parents/ students to bring in any kind of music that the student is interested in learning (e.g., band) ,or to let me know if they have a special interest and I will recommend a piece of music in that category and help them learn it.
I charge by the month, not by the flute lesson. The fee is $135 per month for a half-hour, private one-on-one flute lesson once a week in my music studio. (Four 30-minute lessons per month.) Payment is due on the first lesson of each month.
My flute studio is in Wilsonville, Oregon, where I teach flute lessons. I’m just minutes away from the I-5. I have students from Wilsonville, Sherwood, Tualatin, Aurora, and Canby Oregon.
Make-up Flute Lessons
I will give a make-up lesson with 24 hours notice or for an unexpected illness or circumstance beyond your control. If you choose to not take a make-up lesson, the monthly fee is still the same. I will make up any lesson I miss during the semester.
I provide two free flute recitals each year for my students. One in December and one in May.
